StorySpark 2026: Storytelling Session at SRM University-AP

StorySpark Google Developer Groups (GDG) on Campus, SRM University-AP, in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, successfully organised StorySpark 2026, a specialized workshop on storytelling and communication skills, on  October 13, 2026 at the university campus. Designed to establish an inclusive platform for creative public expression and narrative sharing, the initiative brought together 70 enthusiastic students from diverse academic divisions, including the Easwari School of Liberal Arts (ELSA), Pari School, and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Initiated under the guidance of Faculty Advisor Dr Naga Sravanthi Puppala, Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE, the session focused on sharpening interpersonal communication, building confidence in public expression, and encouraging active interdisciplinary engagement.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr Yashwanth, a second-year BBA student at SRM University-AP, whose peer-led interactive approach encouraged participants to explore storytelling as an essential instrument for sharing ideas and establishing meaningful human connections. Through practical exercises, participants examined critical elements of effective communication, focusing on narrative structure, clarity of expression, and audience engagement. The supportive, collaborative setting allowed students to overcome public speaking hesitation, gain poise, and refine their ability to articulate thoughts with conviction. In turn, facilitating the workshop provided Mr Yashwanth with valuable hands-on experience in session leadership, presentation, and peer group moderation.

STORYSPARK 2026 achieved its core outcomes by equipping participating students with actionable techniques for public speaking and personal articulation. The spirited involvement of students across engineering, liberal arts, and business streams underscored the strength of cross-departmental dialogue on campus. By empowering students to take charge of their own learning initiatives, the workshop demonstrated how peer-driven platforms effectively nurture leadership, confidence, and interpersonal competency alongside core academic training.

This initiative reinforces SRM University-AP‘s overarching commitment to cultivating a holistic educational environment that prepares students to contribute meaningfully to an evolving world. By continuously creating opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and creative expression, the university fosters well-rounded graduates who possess both technical excellence and the communicative confidence required to articulate impactful ideas on a global stage.
