The Department of Health Engineering at SRM University-AP is dedicated to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for current and future healthcare challenges. Our B.Tech in Health Engineering program integrates Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and Medical Sciences to create next-generation healthcare technologies.

This is one of the few unique programs in India that is being established with strong support from the medical technology industry and healthcare institutions. Our curriculum is developed in consultation with industry experts, clinicians, academicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure students gain relevant industry exposure and become career-ready professionals. Students gain hands-on experience through research projects, internships, industry collaborations, and clinical exposure, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to healthcare innovation and patient care.

Programmes Offered

We offer a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs designed to meet the diverse needs of students. From Bachelor’s to Ph.D. degrees, our courses are structured to provide a strong foundation or careers in which familiarity with biological topics is needed, including health care, industry, government, law, education, and more.

B.Tech in Health Engineering

The B.Tech in Health Engineering is an interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with engineering, medical, and technological expertise to solve complex healthcare problems.

Graduates will be trained to design, develop, and implement advanced healthcare technologies that contribute to medical innovation, clinical practice, and healthcare systems engineering.

PhD in Health Engineering

The PhD Program in Health Engineering is designed to train the next generation of researchers and innovators at the interface of engineering, biology, medicine, and AI/ML. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary research aimed at addressing critical challenges in human health through advanced engineering solutions.

Research and Innovation

Biomedical Research & Artificial Intelligence Network (BRAIN) Lab

BRAIN Lab is established with the aim of advancing research and biomedical data analytics, AI-assisted diagnosis, disease modelling, public health informatics, and computational biology.
