Driving the Future of Sustainable Energy: At SRM University-AP, we combine engineering fundamentals with advanced energy technologies to prepare future-ready professionals for the global energy transition. The Department focuses on innovation in clean and sustainable energy solutions that redefine how energy is generated, stored, and utilized. Students develop strong theoretical and practical expertise in Energy Conversion, Hydrogen Energy, Smart Grids, Energy Storage Technologies and emerging technologies such as Artificial intelligence and data analytics for energy applications. Through interdisciplinary learning, research, and hands-on experience, students gain the skills to design, analyze, and optimize energy solutions including solar and wind power plants, hydrogen production technologies, electric mobility systems, industrial energy management, and sustainable energy infrastructure.

The Department offers B. Tech and PhD programs in the field of Energy Engineering. The curriculum emphasizes industrial interaction, interdisciplinary learning, applied engineering, innovation, and research-oriented education aligned with global energy transition requirements.

Research

The Department’s key focus is to develop sustainable and efficient energy technologies for a cleaner and greener future. Research activities are carried out in the areas of Energy Efficient Power Electronic Systems, Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies, Energy materials, Energy Storage Systems, Smart Grids, Thermal and Energy Systems, biomass and biofuels, Computational Energy Analysis, and Energy Policy Studies. The Department actively collaborates with industries, research organizations, and universities within India and abroad to promote interdisciplinary research and technological innovation.
