About Us

The Directorate of Sports at SRM University-AP is dedicated to cultivating a culture where sporting excellence, physical well-being, and holistic education go hand in hand. Recognising sport as an integral pillar of personal growth and leadership development, the Directorate strives to create an environment that inspires every student to pursue excellence both on the field and in life.

With a commitment to developing future champions and responsible leaders, the Directorate provides a comprehensive ecosystem comprising professional coaching, modern sports infrastructure, scientific training methodologies, and year-round competitive opportunities. Through structured talent identification, athlete development programmes, and continuous performance support, students are empowered to realise their full potential while maintaining academic excellence.

The Directorate oversees a diverse portfolio of competitive and recreational sports; promotes student engagement through the University Sports Council and various sports clubs; and facilitates Sports Quota admissions to attract exceptional sporting talent from across the country. Regular training camps, leagues, championships, wellness initiatives, and leadership opportunities foster discipline, teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong passion for fitness and sport.

SRM University-AP offers world-class sporting facilities across multiple disciplines, creating an ecosystem that supports high-performance training as well as recreational participation. The University regularly hosts inter-school, inter-university, state, national, and international sporting events, providing student-athletes with meaningful competitive exposure while strengthening its position as an emerging centre of sporting excellence in higher education.

To provide world-class sports infrastructure, professional coaching, and athlete support systems that enable students to achieve excellence in sports while pursuing academic success.

Mind & Soul Training

Students are trained in games of their choice and taught relevant Yogasanas and Pranayamas that focus on uplifting the body, soul, mind, and spirit, to train our students to achieve their maximum efficacy. Activities in this unique course also inculcate human bonding and enhance team-building and interpersonal skills.

SRM University-AP Athlete Anamika K. Selected to Represent India at the Asia U-23 Athletics Championships 2026

The Directorate of Sports, SRM University-AP, is proud to announce that Ms Anamika K. (AP25322130115) from the Paari School of Business (PSB) has been selected to represent India at the Asia U-23 Athletics Championships 2026, scheduled to be held in Ordos City, China, from 9th to 12th July 2026. Anamika has earned her place in the prestigious continental championship in the Heptathlon, reflecting her exceptional talent, dedication, and consistent performances at the national level. Her selection to represent the country is a proud moment for SRM University-AP and highlights the University's commitment to nurturing sporting excellence.

SRM University-AP Wins Three Gold Medals in Historic Debut at the All India Inter-University Athletics Championship 2026

The Directorate of Sports, SRM University-AP, created history with a remarkable debut performance at the All-India Inter-University Athletics Championship 2026, held at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Mangalore, from 12th to 16th January 2026. Competing at the prestigious national university championship for the first time, the University's athletics contingent delivered an extraordinary performance by winning three Gold Medals, establishing SRM University-AP as an emerging force in university sports. The athletes displayed exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship, bringing immense pride to the University through their outstanding achievements.

Our Student Champions

Racquet Sports

Participated in 63rd National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) in Small Bore Rifle & Pistol events held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Won Silver Medal in the event conducted by School Games Federation of AP for 2019-2020.

Ms Bhuvitha Tummala

She won the first position and 3 gold medals in the 10m air rifle shooting held at 22nd state-level competitions organised by Hyderabad Central University under the aegis of the National Rifle Association of India.

Mr Vishnu Vardhan

Vishnu Vardhan P has landed himself in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records by performing 74 double under rope skips in 30 secs. Vishnu had first marked his name in the India Book of Records with 48 Double under jump rope skips in 20 seconds. His latest achievement has proved Vishnu to be a champion who pushes his limits to claim the impossible!
