SRM University-AP proudly hosted the NCC Annual Training Camp (ATC-III) from June 01 – 10, 2026, welcoming nearly 600 NCC cadets, including 53 from SRM AP campus. This intensive 10-day camp provided a transformative platform for young cadets to develop discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of national service. The holistic training program went beyond the classroom, combining physical fitness, drill, weapon training, and map reading with essential life skills like disaster management, first aid, and fire safety. Through various team competitions and cultural activities, the cadets built camaraderie, mutual respect, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to society.
Adding to the camps focus on national service, Colonel Udaya Kumar, Commanding Officer of the 22 (A) Battalion NCC, Tenali, addressed the vital intersection of youth leadership and technological advancement. He highlighted SRM University-AP’s exciting new curriculum in Defence System Engineering, praising its focus on high-demand, critical fields like Radar Systems and Cyber Security. Colonel Kumar emphasised that this timely academic initiative opens vast career scopes for young engineers, allowing them to secure a powerful career path while actively driving innovation in national defence.
By hosting this prestigious NCC camp and pioneering programmes in Defence Engineering, SRM University-AP reinforces its commitment to shaping the character and competence of India’s youth. These combined initiatives not only strengthen the values of teamwork and patriotism but also equip the next generation of engineers and leaders to actively contribute to nation-building and Indias vision of self-reliance(Atmanirbhar Bharat).
