The Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) at SRM University-AP successfully conducted a five-day Training Programme on Teaching-Learning Methods for Newly Joined Faculty Members from 06 to 10 July 2026. The programme received an enthusiastic response, with 79 faculty members actively participating in a series of dynamic and highly engaging sessions.
The primary objective of the five-day faculty training programme was to enhance participants’ understanding and application of modern teaching-learning methodologies. The programme was designed to equip educators with the skills and knowledge required to effectively engage students, foster learning, and ensure that educational outcomes were achieved.
The programme centred on several key focus areas. Sessions on student-centred education promoted learner autonomy and active participation in the educational process, thereby enhancing engagement and retention among students. This was complemented by sessions on active learning strategies, which introduced participants to interactive techniques encouraging critical thinking, collaboration and practical problem-solving.
Further sessions focused on technology-enabled learning, exploring the use of digital tools and platforms to enhance accessibility, interactivity and the overall learning experience. Participants were also introduced to robust assessment and grading practices, ensuring transparent, fair and consistent evaluation processes aligned with Outcome Based Education (OBE) principles. The programme placed strong emphasis on rigor and accountability, underscoring the importance of high academic standards and shared responsibility between educators and learners.
By the conclusion of the programme, faculty members were well prepared to implement innovative and outcome-oriented teaching methodologies capable of creating unique learning experiences for their students. The successful conduct of the training programme reflects the continued commitment of the Teaching Learning Centre and SRM University-AP towards faculty empowerment, academic excellence and the advancement of quality higher education.
