1. What is the B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence program at SRM University-AP, and what specializations are offered?
The B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) offered by the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Technology Innovation (AiTI) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree focused on core AI, machine learning, and high-performance computational systems. From their first year, students undergo rigorous hands-on training in real-world problem-solving, ethical AI, and responsible innovation.
Students can align their degree with industry demands by choosing from six domain specializations:
2. How is B.Tech in AI different from B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) with a specialization in AI & ML?
| Key Comparison Aspect | B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence (AiTI) | B.Tech in CSE (AI & ML Specialization) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Focus | Trains students as next-generation Data Analyzers & AI Systems Specialists with direct AI immersion from Year 1. | Trains students primarily as Software Programmers with broad Computer Science fundamentals. |
| Curriculum Depth | Deep focus on advanced AI core courses (Generative AI, Agentic AI, NLP, Reinforcement Learning, HPC) across all 4 years. | Covers general CS foundations (Operating Systems, DBMS, Networks) first, introducing AI/ML as electives in later years. |
| Labs & Projects | 100% AI-centric labs, real-world industry project work, and high-performance computing research from early semesters. | Standard CS software labs with dedicated AI/ML project modules in the 3rd and 4th years. |
3. What high-performance computing (HPC) facilities, research infrastructure, and global collaborations support this program?
4. What are the eligibility criteria and mandatory 10+2 subjects for admission to the B.Tech AI program?
5. What subjects, programming languages, and industry software tools are taught in the curriculum?
6. How is project-based learning, coding, and interdisciplinary exposure integrated into the course?
7. What are the key qualifications and research backgrounds of the faculty teaching the program?
Courses are taught by highly qualified academic professionals with Doctorates (Ph.Ds) from leading national and international universities. Faculty members bring:
8. What placement packages, expected recruiters, and career roles can graduating students expect?
Key Career Roles:
9. How does the department facilitate internships, industrial consulting, and real-world problem exposure?
