Abstract
Inter-satellite links provide direct connectivity between two or more satellites, thus eliminating the need for intermediate ground stations while sending data for various wireless applications. This paper proposes the investigations on performance evaluation of Radio Frequency (RF) signal at 60 GHz utilizing Matlab/Scilab computation. A block level model is designed at 60 GHz for estimation of satellite RF link along with the link budget calculator. The operation of the link budget calculator features the calculation of effective noise temperature, noise power, Effective Isotropic Radiative Power(EIRP), Free Space Loss(FSL) and received power of the RF Inter-Satellite Link which further provides an important ground for the Inter-Satellite Link block level design. The power spectrum, constellation diagram and eye-diagram at both transmitter and receiver side for the RF link is evaluated with a separation distance of 500 km and 1000 km.
