Abstract
Terahertz (THz) radiations constitute a comparatively less explored region between microwave and infrared field in the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. This research presents the design, construction and simulation of an antenna which can be suitably used for THz communications, with ultrahigh speed wireless links for biomedical imaging; identification, sensing, and tracking (IST) applications utilizing 1.3 to 5.0 THz band frequencies. The heart shaped bow-tie structure is preferred to enhance the bandwidth and other performance specifications with compact size of about 6 × 6 mm. The low cost silver coating is used as conducting material and the antenna module is a reliable solution for the emerging THz wireless applications.
