Abstract

In the near future, new generation wireless network communications are expected to provide new paradigms over the existing networks with rich multimedia features and performance. In this perspective, progress in computational electromagnetics (EM) and advances in millimeter-wave (MmW) frequency bands propelling for ultra-high-resolution and ultra-high-speed wireless systems/applications. With the deployment of MmW wireless technologies, brinks of potential MmW induced biological and health effects should be carefully considered. Due to the short wavelength and low penetration depth, energy absorption is confined to the skin surface, and it is difficult to evaluate a significant volume for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) at MmWs. The purpose of this study is to observe the temperature elevations from Antipodal Linear Tapered Slot Antenna at 60 GHz on three different body parts for the use of personal wireless devices (PWD) for various wireless applications, utilizing EM tool and Infrared Thermal Camera.
