Strengthening global pathways and creating new opportunities for students, SRM University-AP hosted a distinguished delegation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) through the Destination Japan programme, in collaboration with the Directorate of International Relations and Higher Studies (IR&HS) and the Corporate Relations and Career Services (CRCS).

The event brought together university leadership and the JETRO delegation, including C V Tomy, Dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences (SEAS), Vivekanandan M S, Director of Corporate Relations and Career Services (CRCS), Ken Tamura, Deputy Director, JETRO Japan, and Arunaa Asokan, Project Coordinator, JETRO. The discussions focused on student readiness, mutual collaborations, and emerging workforce opportunities across Japan.

During the session, the university highlighted its student development initiatives, graduate outcomes in placements, entrepreneurship, and higher studies, and the Discover India initiative that promotes cultural exchange on campus. Sarada S, Manager – Center for Japan Collaborations at SRM Global, also shared insights into the university’s structured student preparation. Students, as part of SRM’s Destination Japan program, go through training in japanese language and culture to support seamless integration into the Japanese workforce and society, which has resulted in over 125 SRM Students securing Placements in Japan since May 2024

The visit concluded with an extensive campus tour, during which the delegates explored SRM University AP’s advanced research and academic infrastructure, marking another meaningful step toward strengthening international engagement and student mobility opportunities.
