The Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies (IRHS) at SRM University-AP hosted the Global Festival of Harmony under the theme “One World, Many Faiths, Shared Joy.” The event reflected the essence of Unity in Diversity and showcased global cultural harmony by representing multiple cultures, traditions, and festivals from across the world.
The event beautifully reflected the spirit of Unity in Diversity, showcasing global cultural harmony through representations of countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, Zambia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Angola, Tanzania, and Ghana among others.
The festival featured vibrant cultural installations, creative displays, and artistic expressions by students, transforming the campus into a global cultural hub. Through symbolic representations, traditional motifs, and handcrafted decorations, participants highlighted the richness of diverse cultures and traditions from around the world. The campus resonated with colors, music, and traditions, highlighting the beauty of global diversity and fostering cross-cultural understanding.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Lakshmi Narasimhan, Directorate of International Relations & Higher Studies (IRHS), emphasised the importance of cultural exchange in today’s interconnected world. He stated, “The Global Festival of Harmony truly embodies the spirit of ‘One World, Many Faiths, Shared Joy.’ By bringing together vibrant traditions and cultures from various countries, we celebrate not just diversity, but the deeper connections that unite humanity. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering global understanding and mutual respect among students.”
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SRM University-AP, highlighted the university’s vision of nurturing global citizens. He remarked, “At SRM University-AP, we believe education extends beyond classrooms into experiences that shape individuals with a global perspective. This festival is a powerful reminder that despite our diverse faiths and traditions, we are united by shared values of peace, joy, and coexistence.”
