Third Annual Homecoming Celebration, Honours Alumni Excellence and Recognises Exceptional Faculty

SRM University-AP organised its third alumni meet today. The event drew the presence of 300 former students, who attended with their family members. The inaugural event was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ch Satish Kumar; Registrar, Dr R Premkumar; Dean SEAS, Prof. C V Tomy; Dean of Easwari School of Liberal Arts, Prof. Vishnupad; Assistant Director-Alumni Relations, Dr Satish Anamalamudi; Director Student Affairs, Major General Gurdeep Singh Narang; Associate Director Student Affairs, Ms Revathi Balakrishnan; along with President of the Alumni Association, Mr Indra Kiran Kumar.

Speaking at the reunion, Dr Satish Anamalamudi, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, remarked, “This Alumni Meet is not just a gathering, it is a celebration of memories, milestones, friendship and the shared journey that binds it all together.” He also thanked all the Alumni for taking time out of their busy schedules and spending the day in their Alma mater

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, addressed the alumni with heartfelt warmth. He emphasised that “This university truly belongs to you, the alumni, and our aim is to develop it in a manner that instills a sense of pride in each one of you. It is my students who ignite the passion within me and keep me going.”

The celebration was marked by several highlights, including a vibrant Cultural Fiesta, a Sapling Plantation initiative, an Outdoor Sports Fiesta, and a lively DJ Fest.
This year, the varsity announced numerous awards for excellence in the arts, sports, and culture. The alumni were also presented with the Higher Education Excellence Award, the Industry Excellence Award, the Best Start-up Award, and the Social Impactor Award, in addition to a host of other prestigious honours. Payeli Indra Kiran Kumar and Geethika Kommineni were honoured with the first and second prizes, respectively, for their exceptional contributions in the Industry Excellence. While Raviteja Reddy and Pranavi Vadla shared the first position for the Best Start-up and Social Impactor Award. Dr Gangi Reddy, Dr Banee Bandana Das, Dr Manikandan V M and Dr Srabani Basu were presented with the Best Faculty Awards.

During the event, the university took the opportunity to unveil significant opportunities for its alumni; the Directorate of International Relations and Higher Studies (IR&HS) proposed plans to assist graduates in pursuing higher studies abroad, the Directorate of Corporate Services and Career Services (CR&CS) formulated a lateral hiring scheme aimed at hiring alumni as industry experts, and lastly a plan to introduce an Alumni Referral Programme.

The third Alumni Day was a testimony to the varsity’s past achievements and its promise to continue nurturing the leaders and thinkers of tomorrow.
