SRM University-AP hosted a distinguished delegation from Linnaeus University, Sweden, marking a significant step toward advancing Indo-Swedish collaboration in higher education, research, and academic mobility.
The delegation included Prof. Jesper Andersson, Dean, Faculty of Technology, Prof. Krushna Mahapatra, Head of Built Environment and Energy Technology, and Mr Stefan Haglund, Communication Strategist, International Recruitment. During the visit, the delegation gained insight into SRM University-AP’s academic ecosystem, research strengths, global initiatives, and innovation-led teaching model.
The visiting team held discussions with Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, Vice-Chancellor (I/C), Dr R Premkumar, Registrar, along with Deans and Heads of Departments from various schools of SRM- AP. The conversation focused on prospective collaboration in areas including AI and data sciences, quantum computing, sustainable engineering, biomedical sciences, design innovation, entrepreneurship, and student and faculty exchange initiatives.
The interaction also explored possibilities for joint degree models, research centres, internship pathways, and multi-institutional funding opportunities aligned to global industry and societal impact. SRM University-AP’s leadership highlighted ongoing research initiatives in quantum technologies, advanced material science, biomedical engineering, and energy systems areas that align strategically with Linnaeus University’s research ecosystem.
Speaking on the collaboration potential, the leadership from both universities expressed confidence in building a structured partnership roadmap fostering long-term academic synergy, student mobility and joint innovation.
The visit reflects SRM University-AP’s commitment to expanding global research networks and providing students with world-class exposure, cross-cultural learning, and access to emerging scientific and technological frontiers.
