Abstract

Study of light in a material of alcoholic group has been made. Its results have been compared with silica fibers. Pentenol filled structures find to be applicable for non-linear applications. Its reports zero dispersion up to the wavelength of 1.675 μm and negative dispersion beyond that. Silica fibers have comparatively high birefringence with low loss. Besides normalized frequency and effective mode area has been studied.
