Abstract

This paper presents two PCF structure with ‘Y’ shaped core. One structure has horizontal ‘Y’ and other has vertical ‘Y’ shaped core. Both the structure reports higher birefringence. Structure with vertical ‘Y’ shaped core has shown flattened low dispersion at 1.33μm and 1.55μm. Structure with vertical ‘Y’ shaped core reports ultra low loss. Besides two structures simulated ensures to be endlessly single mode fibers. However vertical ‘Y’ shaped core promises to be a better candidate for application in optical communication, optical sensors, medical purposes, soliton, supercontinnum generation and other non linear applications.
