This paper presents results of an investigated microstrip patch antenna having different geometrical slots. These slots are equal in area. It includes the square, rectangle, circle and elliptical shaped geometry. The designed antenna has shown a return loss of-26dB. The VSWR value for the designed antenna is 1.1 at a resonating frequency of 8.51GHz. Besides radiation pattern and gain of the antenna were also studied. The designed antenna has its wide application in UWB region. However a total of seven resonating frequency was reported by the designed patch antenna.
