Abstract

Four holes of elliptical geometry has been introduced in the cladding region of a photonic crystal fibers (PCFs). All four elliptical holes have equal area and is of about forty three times more than that of circular holes. Investigated structure reports itself to be a residual compensating fiber. It reports very large negative dispersion. Birefringence is found to be of higher order. Simulated structure supports endlessly single mode operation and it also offers very low loss. However structure is considered to be applicable for non linear applications.
