Students from foreign countries will generally be admitted in the beginning of each academic year. However, students can also be admitted under Exchange Programs which are covered by special collaborative arrangements or Memorandum of Understanding.
Admissions are based purely on the candidate’s performance in the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination and satisfying the guidelines of respective councils governing the Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Architecture education. The admission procedure, application form and fees are different from domestic students applying under admissions India category. It is therefore important to take great care to visit the appropriate link meant only for International students. International students are exempt from taking the SRM Entrance Examination.
However, NRI/PIO/OCI candidates may apply for engineering admission through the SRMJEEE exam, and qualify for paying the domestic fees in rupees for the entire duration of the course.

A foreign national, who was eligible to become citizen of India on 26.01.1950 or was a citizen of India on or at any time after 26.01.1950 or belonged to a territory that became part of India after 15.08.1947 is eligible for registration as Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Minor children of such person are also eligible for OCI. However, if the applicant had ever been a citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh, he/she will not be eligible for OCI.
