Abstract

In this paper we have proposed some new photonic crystal fiber structures whose geometries are derived from the polynomials of Pascal’s Triangle (PT). The simulation of the proposed structures are carried out using OptiFDTD simulator with full vector mode solver using finite difference time domain (FDTD). The dispersion observed for the proposed structure was almost zero upto a wavelength of 8□m. The confinement loss reported for the proposed structure shows an increasing curve with respect to the wavelength. However the birefringence reported for the proposed structure shows an linear relationship with the wavelength. The birefringence increases with the increase of wavelength. Moreover the curve between normalised wavelength and modal index number also shows a desirable result. The structure having negligible wavelength are most desirable structures for the design of Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF).
