Abstract
In this chapter, the separation-factor-based design of type-2/3 compensators for a single-inductor-single-input-dual-output buck converter (SI-SIDOBC) is proposed. The SI-SIDO-BC is a famous power electronics structure that controls two distinct output voltages from a single input voltage source using just one inductor. The SIDO-BC’s unique properties must be carefully considered in order to achieve the best performance, stability, and minimize steady-state error. The separation-factor technique emerges as a logical and potent instrument, and the skill of compensator design becomes a keystone. This technique not only provides a systematic structure but also allows for flexibility in fine-tuning compensator settings to fit with system requirements and performance standards. The dynamism of the closed-loop response becomes a canvas for modification, and simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of using a type-3 compensator, demonstrating its capacity to maintain better closed-loop performance, making it the best fit for integrating with microgrids and numerous green energy sources like solar arrays and wind turbines. There is no existing literature on the design of type compensators for SI-SIDO-BCs using the separation factor technique.
