With increasing integration of electric vehicles (EV) in the distribution network, new challenges have emerged for the power system operators. One of the typical challenges is EV charging coordination for fulfilling EV customers’ demands while satisfying storage constraints. This paper presents a model predictive based control (MPC) approach for coordination of different voltage regulation devices and EV charging with the consideration of EV users’ stochastic behavior. The proposed approach aims at maintaining the voltages within desired limits as well as charging the EVs according to the charging requests. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed coordinated charging is better than the uncontrolled charging.
