Abstract
This paper presents an optimized proportional integral control inspired from honey badger optimization (HBO) algorithm. The introduction of the metaheuristic algorithm is aimed that specifically improving the dynamic load regulation performance while maintaining the stability margins. The converter steps down a 48 V input to two independently regulated output voltages using a single inductor. Thus such a setup offers a compact and efficient solution for systems requiring multiple voltage rails. Due to the coupled nature of load dynamics in SIDO converters, maintaining voltage tracking under fast and asymmetric load changes is a key design challenge. The proposed HBO-PI control strategy enhances the transient response by adaptively tuning the controller gains, leading to faster settling time, reduced voltage deviation, and improved dynamic stability compared to conventional PI. Simulation results demonstrate superior efficiency and regulation under varying load conditions, making the HBO-controlled SIDO converter suitable for portable power applications.
