Abstract

Agriculture and natural resources face many challenges, including climate change, land degradation, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss, threatening food security and environmental stability. Yet, precision farming, regenerative practices, vertical farming, and aquaculture offer pathways to sustainability. Community-based solutions and continuous research are crucial for creating a resilient and equitable future for agriculture and natural resources, ensuring our planet’s and its people’s well-being. Technological advancement requires significant investment and equitable access, ensuring no farmer is left behind in the digital harvest. Scaling up sustainable practices necessitates overcoming economic hurdles and building robust infrastructure. Policy changes demand navigating complex social and political landscapes, requiring collaboration between researchers, policymakers, farmers, communities, and the private sector. Defining the problems and identifying the opportunities in agriculture and natural resources is an ongoing process. This review serves as a starting point, igniting further exploration. We must research deeper, evaluate the effectiveness of different sustainable practices, explore technological advancements social and economic implications, and identify innovative policy and governance structures to ensure our planet’s well-being.
