Abstract
Nowadays, power shortages are a big problem in many nations since conventional electrical sources are unable to meet the cumulative electrical consumption. Moreover, the amount of energy consumed rises and surpasses the amount produced. Transformers can be used to increase the voltage produced; however, doing so creates additional losses and noise in the system. Because of these challenging conditions, researchers emphasize on integrating clean energy sources to harvest electric energy with DC-DC converters for sustainable energy production. During the initial phase of power extraction, DC-DC converters are utilized to remove the aforementioned losses and increase power conversion efficiency. The converters may change low DC voltage to high DC voltage when they are used in conjunction with green energy sources such as solar power and wind power. Therefore, there is a dire need to make transition from conventional sources of energy toward sustainable energy future that depends not only on green sources of energy but also on silent contributors (DC-DC converters). In this chapter, we emphasize on how DC-DC converters pave the way for a green and resilient energy landscape.
