Abstract
This paper proposes phase angle control of the rectifier (PAC-R) of LLC resonant converter offering a high gain to accommodate wide input voltage variations while maintaining a stable output. To enhance control flexibility in the converter, the lower-side diodes of output diode bridge rectifier are substituted with MOSFET switches. The converter operates at resonant frequency, which simplifies the magnetic component design and lower circulating currents. Additionally, the use of MOSFETs in place of diodes in the rectifier reduces conduction losses, thus enhancing overall efficiency under normal operating operation. The inherent soft switching capability of all switching devices utilized in the proposed control method significantly contributes to the increased system efficiency. The paper details the operational stages, converter gain characteristics, and design guidelines of the converter parameters. Simulation results are included to validate the converter’s advantages and confirm its functionality.
