
The Department of Mechanical Engineering recently organised an enriching Alumni Interaction Session featuring Mr Venkata Sree Harsha, an esteemed alumnus from the Class of 2025. The prestigious session was graced by key faculty members and student representatives, including Dr Lakshmi Sirisha, Prof. P Vivekananda Shanmuganathan, Dr Satish Anamalamudi, and members of the Student Alumni Relations Committee (SARC). The event served as a vital platform for current students to gain valuable insights into global research, entrepreneurship, and academic growth.
Currently working as a research intern in Singapore, Mr Venkata Sree Harsha shared his inspiring professional and academic journey with the audience. He fondly reflected on his formative years at SRM University-AP, explaining how his initial curiosity evolved into a self-driven path of growth and high achievement. His discussion highlighted the importance of gaining global exposure and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset early in one’s college life.
A major highlight of the session was his experience with his startup, VOLTA. Mr Harsha emphasised how navigating the challenges of building a business from scratch helped him develop vital professional resilience. Furthermore, he shared invaluable technical insights from his internship at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), showcasing the diverse career pathways available to mechanical engineering students.
Throughout the session, Mr Harsha expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous guidance and mentorship provided by the SRM AP faculty, crediting much of his success to the university’s supportive ecosystem.
