
Dr Sumit Kumar Mehta, Assistant Professor, Department of Energy Engineering, SRM University-AP, delivered a Symposium Talk at the 41st Annual Conference of the Ramanujan Mathematical Society (RMS-2026), organised by the Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, from July 02 – 05, 2026.
His presentation, titled “Impact of Viscoelectric Effect on Thermal Transport in Electroosmotic Wavy Microchannels at High Zeta Potential,” was delivered as part of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Symposium. The talk highlighted recent advances in computational modelling of electroosmotic transport and heat transfer in microfluidic systems, emphasising the role of the viscoelectric effect at high zeta potential.
During the conference, Dr Mehta was also inducted as a Lifetime Member of the Ramanujan Mathematical Society (RMS) with Membership No. 2403, recognising his continued contributions to interdisciplinary research in applied mathematics, computational fluid dynamics, and energy engineering.
This participation highlights the Department of Energy Engineering’s growing research contributions in microfluidics, electrokinetics, computational fluid dynamics, and applied mathematics, while strengthening academic interactions with researchers from leading institutions across the country.
