Dr Muhammad Rukunuddin Ghalib

Dr Ghalib is an accomplished academic and international relations professional with over 18 years of experience spanning teaching, research, leadership, and global academic engagement. His expertise lies in international collaborations, student recruitment, academic governance, and transnational education.

With a strong background in Computer Science and Engineering, Dr Ghalib holds a Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, along with an M.E. (Gold Medalist) and B.Tech in Information Technology from the same institution.

Prior to joining SRM University–AP, Dr Ghalib served as Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at De Montfort University, Dubai, where he led the MSc Data Analytics programme, contributed to curriculum design, and fostered international collaborations. He also played a key role in advancing postgraduate engagement and student employability initiatives.

Earlier, during his long tenure at VIT University, Vellore, as Associate Professor and Assistant Director – International Relations, he was instrumental in driving international student recruitment across regions including Oceania, the Gulf, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. He established over 45 global academic partnerships, enabling student and faculty exchange programmes, joint research, and dual-degree opportunities.

Dr Ghalib has significantly contributed to global mobility initiatives such as ERASMUS+, Semester Abroad Programmes, and international internships. He has led recruitment and outreach efforts across more than 25 countries and strengthened institutional collaborations with international schools and universities worldwide.

A dedicated researcher, Dr Ghalib has supervised multiple Ph.D. scholars and published extensively in reputed SCIE and Scopus-indexed journals. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, IoT, and Healthcare Systems. He is also the recipient of funded research projects and holds a published patent in assistive technology.
