He holds a B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Anna University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Madras. He is also a highly credentialed professional, holding certifications such as PMP, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma, and ISO Lead Auditor, with advanced leadership training from the Indian School of Business (ISB).
Prior to joining SRM University–AP, Mr Premkumar served as Hard Services Manager at Shell SBO, Bengaluru, where he led integrated facilities management operations across a 1M+ sq. ft. portfolio supporting over 12,000 employees. He successfully drove asset lifecycle optimisation, ensured 100% statutory compliance, and implemented digital transformation initiatives leveraging IoT and Power BI to enhance performance, governance, and decision-making.
Earlier, at Deutsche Bank, Bengaluru, he served as Assistant Manager – Engineering, playing a key role in managing critical infrastructure, improving system uptime, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks. His career also includes roles with leading organisations such as Cognizant, Cushman & Wakefield, and L&T, where he built a strong foundation in facilities and engineering operations.
Mr Premkumar has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing large-scale operations, including overseeing 1M+ sq. ft. across multiple campuses, handling budgets exceeding $25M, and delivering significant cost savings through portfolio optimization and strategic planning. His initiatives have achieved measurable sustainability outcomes, including 20% energy savings, 50% water conservation, and a substantial reduction in carbon footprint.
