Abstract

The integration of green energy sources and electric vehicle is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and to reduce green house gases. However, due to increase adoption of electric vehicle and charging stations, the management of EV charging network poses significant challenges, including energy efficiency, security and scalability. This paper presents an efficient and scalable fog-assisted blockchain-enabled EV charging framework and a case study proposed that reduces transaction latency and increase the transaction throughputs. A fog-assisted blockchain framework is designed and implemented to manage EV charging sessions, optimize energy consumption, and ensure secure transactions. The performance of the proposed framework is evaluated using various metrics, including energy efficiency, transaction latency, and security. The results indicate that the fog-assisted blockchain framework can significantly improve the energy efficiency of EV charging networks, reduce transaction latency, and ensure secure transactions. The study demonstrates the potential of fog-assisted blockchain technology in supporting the widespread adoption of green energy sources and electric vehicles.
