Abstract
In this paper, an adaptive phase shift modulation is proposed for a neutral-point-clamped dual active bridge (NPCDAB) converter-based battery charger. This is implemented using a moving discretized control set model predictive control (MDCS-MPC). The proposed control can adjust step size to reach reference point faster and also helps in achieving constant switching frequency operation, which are not possible with finite control set MPC with fixed step size. Also, the circuit analysis becomes simpler with fixed switching frequency operation. The performance of circuit is verified in MATLAB software.
