Abstract
This paper presents a frequency reconfigurable dual-band bandpass filter based on a half-wavelength or λ2 transmission line and short-circuited stepped impedance stubs. The change in the impedances of the short-circuited stepped impedance stubs affects the center frequencies of the passbands. The shunt section of the proposed frequency reconfigurable dual-band bandpass filter contains three short-circuited stubs connected to the shunt quarter wavelength transmission line using PIN diodes. The ON and OFF states of the PIN diodes change the impedance ratio of the shunt section; thereby, the reconfigurability in the frequency is obtained. The response of the proposed filter contains two passbands with good return loss greater than 20dB in the passbands, and both the passbands are separated by a single transmission zero with the rejection or insertion loss in the stopband better than 30 dB at the fθ. The first passband has a tuning range of 0.79 to 1.2GHz and the second passband frequency can be tuned between 3.1 to 3.6GHz
