Abstract
India, renowned for its tomato production, faces challenges in terms of quality and quantity of tomato crops due to escalating incidences of diseases. This research introduces ‘Tomato Guard,’ a predictive model specifically designed to forecast diseases in tomato plants, aiming to mitigate these challenges. Utilizing advanced machine learning techniques and integrating diverse datasets comprising environmental variables, plant health metrics, and historical disease trends, the model adopts a proactive stance towards disease management. Rigorous field trials validate the efficacy of ‘Tomato Guard,’ showcasing its superior accuracy in early disease detection compared to traditional scouting methods. Its adaptability to various climates and geographical regions enhances its utility for growers, offering a versatile solution to combat disease outbreaks. Furthermore, the model not only minimizes economic losses but also advocates for sustainable farming practices, thereby contributing to global food security and agricultural resilience. The model’s user-friendly interface facilitates interaction, enabling growers to upload diseased images and receive accurate predictions along with suitable remedies. Overall, ‘Tomato Guard’ stands as a significant advancement in disease prediction and management in tomato cultivation, empowering growers with actionable insights to safeguard their crops and sustain agricultural productivity.
