SRM University-AP in association with Power Beam Society of India hosted the One Day Theme Meeting on Pulse Power and Electron Beam Applications on Novemeber 22, 2025. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Dr A K Das, Former Vice Chairperson, OSHEC; Former Vice Chancellor, Utkal University; and Formerly Distinguished Scientist, BARC, Mumbai, along with Guests of Honour Prof. K C Mittal, Former Project Manager, Electron Beam Centre–Kharghar and Formerly Outstanding Scientist & Head, Accelerator & Pulse Power Division, BARC, Mr R I Bakhtsingh, Head, Accelerator & Pulse Power Division, BARC.

Eminent guests Dr Rishi Verma (BARC Vishakhapatnam), Prof. SV Kulkarni, Professor-IIT Bombay, Prof. K Kanakgiri (VJTI Mumbai) also participated in the event. The meet was honoured by the presence of Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, Vice Chancellor (I/C); Prof. C V Tomy, Dean–SEAS; and Dr R Premkumar, Registrar, SRM University-AP, with Dr Somesh Vinayak Tewari, HoD–EEE, serving as the Convenor.

The inaugural session opened with a welcome address emphasising the growing relevance of pulse power and electron beam technologies across defence, space, healthcare, environmental remediation, and advanced manufacturing. Speakers underscored the need to harmonise cutting-edge research with national missions such as Viksit Bharat@2047, encouraging scholars and faculty to pursue translational research and foster strong academia–industry partnerships.

The meeting featured technical talks, interactive sessions, and discussions aimed at identifying research gaps, exploring collaborative possibilities, and motivating proposal development aligned with national priorities, thereby making the event a meaningful platform for knowledge exchange and future research planning.
