ESLA SUMMER SCHOOLEaswari School of Liberal Arts (ESLA) organised Career Ingenium Summer School 2026 for three inspiring days from 26th – 28th May 2026, transforming learning into an experience of exploration, discovery, and meaningful conversations. About 102 students representing 28 schools participated enthusiastically in the Summer School.

Designed to introduce students to diverse academic disciplines and emerging career pathways, the summer school brought together interactive workshops, hands-on activities, discussions, and field-based experiences that encouraged participants to think beyond conventional classroom boundaries.

Each session was carefully curated to help students engage with ideas, question assumptions, build practical skills, and understand how different disciplines connect to the world around them.

History: Questioning Narratives, Discovering the Past

The History sessions invited students to rethink how history is written, remembered, and interpreted. Beginning with History Lab: What Is History? Who Tells It?, participants explored how historical events are reconstructed and how multiple perspectives shape our understanding of the past. Discussions around events such as 1857 encouraged students to examine whether history emerges through facts, narratives, rebellion, or memory.

On the second day, students explored history through movement and everyday life—tracing journeys, trade routes, migrations, and cultural exchanges that shaped societies across time, while also reflecting on how food, clothing, homes, and social roles reveal histories hidden in ordinary experiences.

The experience concluded with Archaeologist for a Day: Discovering the Past of Andhra, where participants stepped outside the classroom to engage with local heritage and understand how places preserve stories across generations.

English: Communication, Creativity and Confidence

The English track focused on developing skills essential for academic and personal growth. Through Invent with Words, students experimented with storytelling and creative expression, discovering how language can communicate ideas and emotions.

Workshops such as Unshakable You encouraged participants to reflect on confidence, self-expression, and resilience, while Team Mastery introduced approaches to productivity, collaboration, and effective habits. Sessions on Future Ready English and stress management equipped students with practical tools for navigating academic challenges and building confidence for future opportunities.

Media Studies: Creating Stories in a Digital World

Media Studies offered students an opportunity to experience the world behind the camera and the screen. Participants explored mobile photography, storytelling, and journalism fundamentals while learning how visual narratives influence audiences.

Hands-on sessions in photography and videography introduced creative and technical skills, while discussions on misinformation and fake news encouraged students to become more critical and informed media consumers. The programme concluded with conversations around film, digital storytelling, and evolving career opportunities in media and communication.

Psychology: Understanding Self and Human Behaviour

Psychology sessions encouraged students to understand themselves and the people around them through reflection and scientific inquiry.

Participants explored themes such as personality, emotions, stress, growth mindset, and social relationships. Sessions on brain and behaviour introduced concepts related to decision-making, social influence, and cognitive biases, while discussions around habits, communication, mental health literacy, and success highlighted how psychology shapes everyday experiences.

Economics: Making Sense of an Interconnected World

Economics sessions demonstrated how global events, technology, and data influence individual and collective decisions.

Students explored changing market dynamics during crises and geopolitical shifts, participated in practical introductions to survey research and statistics, and examined how artificial intelligence, game theory, and data-driven thinking are transforming financial systems and public policy.

Political Science: Citizenship, Ethics and Public Life

Political Science encouraged participants to engage with questions of governance, rights, ethics, and participation.

Students explored the foundations of the Indian Constitution, discussed politics as both an academic discipline and a career pathway, and reflected on how political decisions shape everyday life. Conversations around ethics, digital citizenship, equality, gender, and democracy helped participants connect public issues with their own experiences and responsibilities as future citizens.

Anthropology & Sociology: Seeing Society Differently

Anthropology and Sociology sessions invited students to observe everyday life through new perspectives.

From examining food habits and cultural practices to understanding mobility, gaming culture, sound, and environmental relationships, participants explored how societies function and how people create meaning through interactions, identities, and lived experiences.

Career Ingenium Summer School 2026 concluded as more than a summer programme it became a platform for curiosity, experimentation, and interdisciplinary learning. Through conversations, collaborative activities, and immersive experiences, students discovered new ways of thinking and gained perspectives that extend far beyond the classroom.
