Abstract
The most common machine for wind power applications is the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), which can operate at varied speeds and control DC link voltage by using power electronics converters. Even though DFIG-based generators are the most common, they are especially prone to grid voltage fluctuations. The present system increases the stability due to fault ride through (FRT), as FRT is very important for DFIG based wind energy conversion systems (WECS). In a DFIG-based model, an intersecting type fault current limiter (ITFCL) is employed to improve the FRT’s capabilities, such as DC link voltage, stator current and stator voltage. Electromagnetic torque is also improved. ITFCL also enhances the scheme’s short stability, energy performance, and efficiency by reducing error flow suddenly. The literature review presents a superconductivity-based enhanced current limiter solution. The paper’s topic is ‘Intersecting type fault current limiters.’ This paper creates a typical DFIG model with ITFCL using Simulink/SimPowerSystem, and LG and LLL-G faults are analyzed both with and without ITFCL.
