SRM University-AP continues to enhance its research expertise by securing 10 high-impact research grants from national and international funding agencies, including the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and the Indo-French Green Hydrogen initiative. The project received a total outlay of over ₹7 crores.
These awarded projects, such as Low-Cost Earth-Abundant Functional Materials for Solar Fuel Production – LEAFS, Genetic Dissection and Functional Validation of Carotenoid and Soluble Solids Content in Tomato Using Mapping-by-Sequencing and CRISPR/Cas9, and Magneto-Electrocatalytic Strategies for Synergistic Co-Reduction of N₂/NOₓ and CO₂ to Urea: Mechanistic Insights and Pathways Towards Enhanced CCU Efficiency, along with the other projects demonstrates the University’s focus on advancing research, innovation, and technology development in priority areas of national and global importance.
SRM AP faculties leading these research initiatives include Prof. Ranjit Thapa, Dr Sujith Kalluri, Dr Pardha Saradhi Maram, Dr Prateek Gupta, Dr Prasun Goswami, Dr Yenuganti Vengala Rao, Dr Sutharsan Govindarajan, Dr Manab Kundu, Dr Ram Baran Verma, and Dr Kamalesh Saha. These projects also align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and will help tackle global challenges
These projects span diverse research domains, including Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage, Food Security, Electrocatalysis, Neuroscience and reflect the faculty’s commitment to contributing to knowledge and societal needs through impactful research.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar congratulated the faculty and remarked- “These projects reaffirm SRM University-AP’s dedication towards research and the unwavering commitment it demonstrates in supporting high-impact research that advances science and technology in the country.”
Prof. Ranjit Thapa, the Dean-Research stated, “these funded projects provide opportunities to contribute to solutions for pressing challenges. We appreciate the support from funding agencies and look forward to delivering outcomes that are valuable to both academia and society.”
