The Directorate of Student Affairs hosted a Road Safety Awareness Programme on campus to educate students, as well as administrative and academic staff, on traffic rules and the importance of safe and responsible driving.

The awareness session was chaired by Mr Nayeemulla, Former Engineer-in-Chief, R&B, Govt. of AP and Mr A Mohan, Joint Transport commissioner (Admin and IT) Government of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada. Both speakers explained the key causes of road accidents, relevant statistics, essential safety precautions, the meaning of road signs, and the critical importance of wearing helmets and seat belts.

Special emphasis was placed on the Andhra Pradesh–Vijayawada belt, highlighting regional, national, and global road accident statistics. The session also included one-on-one interactions with participants to assess their awareness of road safety and address their questions.

Through this impactful initiative, SRM University–AP reaffirmed a vital message to the community: “Your life matters.”
