SRM University-AP hosted the Model United Nations (MUN) 2026, a miniature of the world forum where dialogue met diplomacy. This year’s MUN brought together student diplomats representing 38 UNGA member countries and 42 UN HRC members countries engaged in-depth discussion in critical global socio-economic-political crises, human rights issues, and the question of whether international sanctions serve as instruments of compliance or acts of defiance.
The Executive Board of MUN 2026 extended their welcome to all the delegates representing various countries to debate, negotiate, discover a common ground and resolve issues with empathy.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar inaugurated the MUN Conference 2026 in the presence of Director – Student Affairs Major General Gurdeep Singh Narang and Associate Director – Student Affairs Ms Revathi Balakrishnan.
Prof. Ch Satish Kumar emulated the significance of MUN to nurture leaders that advocate for global humanity and real-world international diplomacy within politics, emphasising that the conference is about learning critical thinking, teamwork, and becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
MUN 2026 became a global forum for students to understand international affairs and diplomacy to draft solutions, collaborate to address global issues, and understand the United Nations agenda.
