Cinevie 3.0, the third edition of a national-level short film and documentary competition, was successfully conducted at SRM University–AP for the third consecutive year, in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs.

The event featured acclaimed Indian Film Director Kaushik Pegallapati, who won millions of hearts with his recently released film Kishkindhapuri, as the chief guest.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp, in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, Registrar R Premkumar, Kaushik Pegallapati, Director – Student Affairs, Associate Director – Student Affairs, and other distinguished delegates.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ch Satish Kumar highlighted how the university’s vibrant and unique student clubs play a vital role in the success of such creative initiatives. He emphasised that while passion is essential, creativity is equally important in filmmaking, and encouraged students by stating that age is never a barrier when one is determined to achieve their dreams.

Sharing his inspiring journey, Kaushik Pegallapati spoke about his path to becoming a film director, motivating students with the message that strong determination and perseverance can turn aspirations into reality.

The competition received a total of 46 submissions, comprising 6 documentaries and 40 short films. Based on the evaluation scores, the documentary winners were announced as follows:

Desam Marutha Padaivagal by Harish Ramakrishnan and team, Anna University, Mangalagiri Nethakala by Vaishalini and Uday, SRM University–AP.

Cinevie 3.0 once again reaffirmed SRM University–AP’s commitment to nurturing creativity, storytelling, and artistic expression among students. By providing a national platform for young filmmakers and documentary creators, the event encouraged meaningful narratives and innovation in cinema, while inspiring aspiring artists to pursue their passion with confidence and purpose.
