
In commemoration of Constitution Day, the Department of History organised a book discussion on “Constitution of India: 75 Years of World’s Largest Democracy” for the faculty, scholars and students at the university. Prof V. Krishna Ananth, renowned historian, professor of history at Sikkim University, Gangtok, and author of the book held a discussion with Mr Saurav Das, independent journalist based in New Delhi, highlighting the significance of the theme in contemporary constitutional and democratic discourse.
The discussion facilitated a platform for dialogue and intellectual engagement with debates on constitutionalism and democracy. It contributed to the public understanding of India’s constitutional journey at its 76-year milestone. The talk brought out a critical dialogue to nurture informed debate on issues central to India’s democratic life.
