About MeitY GENESIS

With an aim to boost the startup ecosystem in Tier-II & Tier-III cities in the country, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved implementation of the ‘Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS)’ Scheme for a duration of 5 years. The scheme envisages further scaling up and sustaining the startup ecosystem especially to discover, grow and nurture technology startups. The scheme aims to support approx. 50+ tech start-ups over the course of next 5 years

At Hatchlab Research Centre (HRC), we are pleased to announce the launch of two major MeitY GENESIS funding components aimed at empowering startups to scale and commercialize their innovations through pilot projects and investment support.

Pilot Funding Component:

Funding support of up to ₹40 Lakhs per startup to execute pilot projects in collaboration with corporates, PSUs, or large enterprises.

This component helps startups validate and demonstrate their solutions in real-world environments, enabling faster market access and scalability.

Matching Investment Component:

Funding support of up to ₹50 Lakhs per startup for those raising investments from venture capitalists or angel investors.

This matching grant accelerates growth for market-ready startups by strengthening investor confidence and expanding market reach.

Both programs support startups working in: Health-Tech | AI/ML | IoT | Fintech | Robotics | Deep Tech | Cybersecurity | ICT | Ed-Tech | Blockchain | Manufacturing

Who Can Apply:

  • DPIIT-recognized startups registered in Tier-II or Tier-III cities
  • Must have a working prototype / MVP or market-ready solution
  • Should not have been previously funded under TIDE 2.0 Scale-up or SAMRIDH
  • Must be a registered Indian Pvt. Ltd. company with ≥51% Indian ownership
