Objectives
- To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in the problem-solving process.
- To make the students aware of the social responsibilities and encourage them to serve the community.
- To provide a platform for open discussions of ideas, public interest, opinions, views for a social cause.
Outcomes
- This club will help in developing interpersonal, managerial, and volunteering skills.
- The Community Service Club inculcates socially desirable values such as empathy and co-operation and nurtures the desire of the young to serve the needy. It will undertake projects such as literacy and educational programs for underprivileged children, field trips, health campaigns, awareness campaigns, generate funds for the needy etc.
- This club will help to develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among the students.
- This club will help to utilize the students’ knowledge in finding a practical solution to individual and community problems.
- This helps to acquire leadership qualities and a democratic attitude.
- It also develops the capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.
Club functioning & Scope of Club activities
- Organising and volunteering in university events.
- Various Awareness drives.
- Real-life problem solving by using knowledge and technology transfer.
- Community participation in different rural/underprivileged areas/adopted villages.
- Organising and volunteering in visits to old age homes, orphanages etc.
- Organising and volunteering in community services like blood donation camps, relief camps, tree plantations, cleaning camps, helping during natural calamities etc.
