The Teaching Learning Center (TLC), SRM University–AP, Amaravati, organised a Wealth Management Workshop for university staff and faculty members, with the objective of equipping participants with a structured and practical roadmap for long-term financial planning and personal money management.
The session was led by Mr Ravi Prakash S, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, who guided participants through the fundamentals of wealth creation and financial discipline. He began by emphasising the importance of understanding one’s personal financial journey starting from the learning phase, moving into the earning phase, and eventually the spending phase. The session highlighted the need for regularity and discipline in savings and investments as the foundation of effective wealth management.
Mr Ravi Prakash explained the significance of setting SMART financial goals—specific, measurable, realistic, and achievable—while clearly distinguishing between short-term and long-term goals. Participants were encouraged to identify compulsory and optional financial goals and take measured steps towards achieving them, keeping inflation and its impact on savings in mind. The concepts of net worth, assets, and liabilities were also discussed to help participants gain clarity on their overall financial health.
The workshop further covered insurance planning, tax planning, and an overview of regular investment options, including mutual funds, risk categories of investments, and suitable schemes based on individual financial goals. A concise fact sheet was shared to support informed financial decision-making.
Through such initiatives, SRM University–AP continues to foster financial awareness, responsible planning, and holistic professional development within its academic community.
