SRM University–AP Inaugurates Campus Exchange Programme with SRM Sikkim

SRM University–AP inaugurated the Campus Exchange Programme welcoming 61 students and faculty members from SRM University, Sikkim, marking the start of an academic and experiential exchange.

The inaugural session featured welcome addresses from faculty members and administrators of both institutions.  Ms Manisha Thakuri, Associate Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, SRM University, Sikkim, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and highlighted the value of cross-campus learning and student engagement. She shared her academic background in English studies and student affairs, and emphasised the importance of leadership activities and academic exposure for students.

Dr Biswajit Bose, Associate Dean – Research, Faculty of Sciences, SRM University, Sikkim, spoke about the university’s strong research culture, funded projects, patents, and publications. He emphasised the importance of collaborative research, laboratory exposure, and student participation in research activities during the exchange programme.

Representing the Department of Management, Mr Nitesh Roy, Assistant Professor,shared his academic journey within the SRM ecosystem and highlighted the learning opportunities available through exposure to business school practices and interdisciplinary engagement at SRM University–AP.

The programme was graced by Prof. Ch Satish Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SRM University–AP, and Dr R Premkumar, Registrar, along with directors, deans, associate deans, faculty members, Heads of Departments, and Ms Nivedha Sriram, Student Council President. The speakers emphasised the importance of research, inter-institutional collaboration, and meaningful student engagement.

The Campus Exchange Programme showcases SRM University–AP’s holistic academic ecosystem, integrating strong student support services, advanced campus facilities, leadership interaction, and experiential learning, while strengthening collaboration and knowledge-sharing across SRM universities. The programme will also include industrial visits to the Coca-Cola Company and Jindal Steel & Power, along with visits to prominent beaches and renowned tourist destinations in and around Vijayawada.
