Roles and Responsibilities of IKS Cell Stakeholders

The IKS Cell at SRM University-AP has been constituted by the Competent Authority to systematically integrate Indian Knowledge Systems across all academic programmes and research domains. Our Cell bridges classical Indian wisdom with contemporary scientific approaches — addressing modern societal challenges through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research covering sciences, arts, literature, philosophy, and engineering.

IKS Cell Coordinator

  • Leads strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all Cell functions.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with institutional leadership and national bodies such as AICTE, UGC, and the Ministry of Education.
  • Develops annual work plans and budget proposals.
  • Chairs internal meetings and monitors progress on initiatives.
  • Facilitates faculty engagement and spearheads research promotion.
  • Compiles reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Departmental Faculty Coordinators

  • Identify IKS integration points within departmental curricula.
  • Develop and deliver specialized IKS modules or courses.
  • Mentor students on IKS-aligned projects.
  • Contribute to research, documentation, and scholarly output.
  • Organize discipline-specific workshops and seminars.

Research Scholars/Researchers

  • Conduct focused investigations on designated IKS themes.
  • Support faculty in research design and course development.
  • Develop scholarly content for publication and digital archiving.

Student Coordinators/Volunteers

  • Assist in event organization, including lectures, exhibitions, and workshops.
  • Promote awareness of IKS within the student body.
  • Contribute to content creation and knowledge documentation.
  • Manage digital communications and outreach efforts.

Administrative Assistant

  • Handles administrative logistics, correspondence, and records management.
  • Coordinates scheduling, communication, and support services for Cell activities.
