Curriculum Integration

Academic departments are tasked with ensuring IKS integration through

Identifying current courses where IKS elements may be incorporated.

Designing short-credit modules (1-3 credits) either within existing syllabi or as electives (e.g., Ayurveda, Indian Architecture, Ancient Metallurgy).

Creating dedicated IKS courses at the UG and PG levels in line with UGC’s credit framework.

Offering IKS as a minor or optional specialization.

Faculty Development

Regular Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) are conducted in collaboration with prominent institutions such as IIT Kharagpur and NIT Kurukshetra to strengthen teaching methodologies in IKS.

Structured FDPs in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur and NIT Kurukshetra on IKS pedagogy.

Hands-on workshops to familiarize faculty with IKS content, research methods, and teaching tools.

Long-term capacity building to develop a cadre of IKS-competent faculty across all departments.

Research Promotion

Identification of relevant themes (e.g., traditional water management, linguistics, heritage technologies).

Allocation of funding to catalyse small-scale research projects.

Partnerships with national and global IKS institutions.

Hosting conferences, seminars, and publishing findings in reputable outlets.

Facilitating doctoral guidance and supervision in IKS themes.

Community Outreach

Hosting lectures by distinguished IKS scholars.

Offering hands-on programs in traditional knowledge (e.g., Yoga, folk art).

Curating IKS-themed exhibitions to highlight contemporary relevance.

Initiating awareness programs for K-12 institutions.

Organizing local excursions to heritage sites.

Digital Documentation and Repository

Converting manuscripts and traditional records into digital formats.

Launching a centralized web platform to serve as a resource hub.

Creating high-quality video, audio, and text-based learning resources.

Compiling a registry of IKS scholars, institutions, and practitioners.

Implementing a structured framework for knowledge taxonomy and access.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Identifying student/faculty ventures inspired by traditional practices (e.g., herbal health products).

Facilitating access to innovation labs and entrepreneurial mentors.
