About the IKS Centre

The IKS Cell at SRM University-AP has been constituted by the Competent Authority to systematically integrate Indian Knowledge Systems across all academic programmes and research domains. Our Cell bridges classical Indian wisdom with contemporary scientific approaches — addressing modern societal challenges through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research covering sciences, arts, literature, philosophy, and engineering.

Governance & Strategic Vision

Our Vision

To establish a premier center for the exploration, preservation, promotion, and contemporary application of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).

National Mandate

The Cell is designed in close adherence to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, specifically integrating traditional wisdom into modern curriculum

Regulatory Alignment

We operate under the mandates of the Ministry of Education (MoE) IKS Division and AICTE to preserve and promote traditional knowledge.

UGC Compliance

We ensure that at least 5% of total program credits are IKS-oriented, with oversight from the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Community Outreach

A key role of the Cell involves engaging with the public through various platforms such as workshops, public lectures, and collaborative initiatives.

Faculty Development

The Cell provides structured training and support for faculty to enhance their capacity for effective teaching and research in IKS domains.
