Department of Computer Science and Engineering
B.Tech CSE (AI and Future Technologies Programme)
Programme Structure
This is a 4-year undergraduate programme designed with tech leaders from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Intel. The programme blends rigorous academic foundations with sustained practical execution through a work-integrated curriculum. As software systems become increasingly AI-native, graduates develop capabilities across full-stack engineering, distributed systems, and applied AI as a core engineering skill.
Programme Structure
The programme is structured over eight semesters, integrating three learning layers: Essentials (Degree and Credits), Mastery (Employability), and Excellence (Professional Distinction). Together they prepare engineers the world needs.
Students develop integrated capabilities across core computer science, software engineering and system design, web and cloud platform engineering, and artificial intelligence embedded as a core engineering skill. From Semester 3 onwards, students engage in real-world work integrated learning that includes product development projects, open-source software contributions, simulated industry work environments, and internships.
Graduates of this programme demonstrate:
- Strong academic foundations aligned with university standards
- A portfolio of deployed AI-native products
- The ability to audit, secure, and scale AI-generated code
- Multiple semesters of real-world engineering exposure
- Mature professional behaviours and ethical grounding
- Readiness to contribute effectively from Day 1
Industry Collaborations / Unique Benefits
- Curriculum designed with tech leaders from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Intel.
- Students work with Fortune 500 companies, startups, and Global Capability Centers across cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data engineering, fintech, health-tech, and SaaS-based product companies.
- Real-world product development projects, open-source software contributions, and professional internships from Semester 3 onwards.
- Full-stack development using modern, industry-relevant stacks (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Next.js, AWS, Git, GitHub).
- AI and ML as core skills with responsible AI practices integrated throughout.
Mode of Delivery
Hands On, Active Learning Powered by HEROS
Learning with Kalvium is supported by HEROS (Higher Education Real-Time Operating System), a comprehensive academic and operational system that underpins the entire learning journey.
HEROS is not a platform, but an integrated system that enables:
- Early identification of academically at risk students for timely mentor intervention
- End to end audit trails for assessments, ensuring integrity and traceability
- Automated and rubric driven evaluation to minimize evaluator bias
- Secure, proctored assessments with high standards of academic integrity
- Systematic logging and analysis of each student's learning activity across every hour of engagement
- Data tracked mentor interventions and student progress over time
Eligibility Criteria
- Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Admission through SRMAP Admission Process or approved lateral entry, followed KNET.
